1942-1951: Foundations of innovation

John Bryant (AJT), a founder of the Crystalaid Group, leveraged his expertise in radio engineering and motion picture sound systems to explore advancements in human hearing and deafness. This pioneering work came during a transformative era, transitioning from carbon to transistor amplifiers in hearing aid technology, setting the stage for future breakthroughs.

1952-1961: Crystalaid and advancing hearing aid design

Crystalaid was established to develop advanced electronic hearing aids and sub-miniature amplifiers, establishing a reputation for cutting-edge innovation.

1962-1971: Shaping Australia’s hearing aid industry

Played a critical role in establishing and growing the national hearing aid industry, setting a foundation for future development.

1972-1981: Innovation meets production excellence

Applied state-of-the-art audiology concepts to modernise production processes, achieving new levels of efficiency and precision.

1982-1991: Quality and global reach

Achieved industry-first quality certifications and partnered internationally to design, develop, and manufacture advanced hearing aids for both domestic and export markets.

1992-2001: Breakthrough products and certifications

Produced the world’s first electronic programmable hearing aids with remote control, manufacturing over 100,000 units annually. Entered partnerships to deliver cutting-edge cochlear speech processors.

2002-2018: Ultra-precise micro-electronics

Focused on precision manufacturing and innovative design concepts, setting new standards in micro-electronics for complex applications.
